The smallest and oldest DLC on this list, integrated free for years now. It gave Poland its first focus tree of its own, before No Step Back expanded it much further in 2021.

Nations and Content

Poland went from having no focus tree of its own to having a basic one, plus its own voice lines for generals and admirals, and specific unit models.

What Changes

It doesn't introduce system mechanics — it's purely country content, and fairly modest compared to what Poland has today thanks to No Step Back. But it was the first step toward turning it into a truly playable nation.

Why it matters: if you're interested in the game's evolution, this DLC is a good reminder of how simple country content was in Hearts of Iron IV's early years, compared to today's depth.

Is It Still Worth It?

Free, and already surpassed in depth by No Step Back, but it's still the foundation everything else was built on. Check out the Poland guide for the current gameplay experience, with the tree already expanded.
